PROPRIETARY EXPLORATION MODEL · JV & JO Only

Deep Exploration Model

Look deeper. Test the geological possibility.

Identify Deeper and Blind Orebody Targets

The next exploration opportunity may sit beneath cover, beyond known intersections or along a structure that is not yet understood. GAIA’s Deep Exploration Model connects the available evidence to develop and compare hypotheses for deeper and blind mineralization, then identifies how those hypotheses can be tested.

Available exclusively through JV or JO project cooperation. Not available for self-service platform access.

Develop a stronger case for looking deeper

01

Trace controls beyond the exposed evidence

Examine structural geometry, geological contacts, alteration and known mineralization together. Explore where the current geological interpretation supports deeper continuation or a concealed mineralized center.

02

Constrain the interpretation with multiple datasets

Bring geophysical observations, geological sections and drilling information into the same reasoning process. Compare alternative explanations rather than treating a single anomaly as a direct image of an orebody.

03

Design evidence that can challenge the model

Identify the observations most likely to distinguish between competing deep-target hypotheses. Link the interpretation to a focused sequence of surveys, field checks or drilling.

Constrain what cannot yet be seen

What we work with

Regional and project geology; structural interpretations; alteration and mineralization records; available geophysical data or interpretations; and relevant drill logs, assays and sections. The assessment starts by reviewing how well these datasets constrain the subsurface.

What the project work can produce

  • 01A geological interpretation of possible deep extensions or concealed mineralization.
  • 02Alternative target hypotheses, with the evidence supporting and challenging each one.
  • 03An assessment of the depth, geometry and continuity questions that remain unresolved.
  • 04A verification sequence defining which observations would change the current interpretation.

The work scope and deliverables are defined for each JV or JO project following a review of the data, objectives and project stage.

From deep hypotheses to targeted tests

01

Review the existing subsurface constraints

Establish what the current geology, geophysics and drilling actually show, and where interpretation begins.

02

Develop competing deep-target hypotheses

Explore plausible geometries and mineral-system relationships within the available geological and physical constraints.

03

Test and update

Use new evidence to narrow the alternatives and revise the next exploration decision.

Illustrative project scenario

Known shallow mineralization with an unresolved deeper setting

A project has mineralized intersections near surface and a geophysical response at depth. The exploration question is whether these observations belong to one system, represent separate sources or have another explanation. The model helps organize those alternatives and define the evidence needed before selecting a deep test.

Questions before we explore together

What does “blind” mineralization mean?

It refers here to mineralization without an obvious surface expression, including mineralization concealed beneath cover or other geological units.

Can the model determine a unique orebody shape?

No. Subsurface interpretations can be non-unique. The objective is to develop constrained, testable hypotheses and reduce uncertainty with further evidence.

Are existing drillholes required?

Drilling can provide valuable constraints, but project suitability depends on the full evidence available. An initial review determines the questions that can reasonably be addressed.

Does a deep anomaly imply a resource increase?

No. An anomaly or target hypothesis is not a resource estimate. Resource growth requires appropriate exploration, estimation and professional validation.

Is the model open to platform users?

No. This proprietary model is available through JV or JO project cooperation only. It is not included as a self-service platform feature.

How do we begin a cooperation discussion?

Share the project stage, known mineralization, available subsurface information and the deeper question you want to resolve. The team can then discuss project fit and the next review step.
